Are you struggling with persistent pain, reccurent injuries and/or long term conditions that affect your mobility?

Physiotherapy can help you with

  • Chronic, ongoing pain affecting your physical health, mental health and/or ability to work.
  • To manage chronic heath problems (e.g arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic back pain).
  • Acute muscle and joint injuries (e.g sprained ankle, sports injury, back spasm after injury when gardening).
  • Recovery from surgery (e.g knee replacement or fracture fixation).
  • Ongoing or recurrent areas of pain (e.g .back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain).

Claire is a musculoskeletal and womens health Physiotherapist, treating problems affecting the muscles, bones, joints and other soft tissues within the body. She can help you to recover from injuries and manage long term conditions.

Physiotherapy can help with common issues such as back, shoulder or knee pain, whether they result from sports or occupational injuries, long term conditions such as osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia or natural changes in the body such as pregnancy or the aging process.

What does an appointment involve?

Claire takes a holistic approach to Physiotherapy and considers how the whole body functions in her approach to assessing and treating clients. She considers how factors such as social or workplace activities and a persons mental wellbeing can affect the body and the health problem in question and may need to be altered in order to get the best outcome from physiotherapy.

Claires approach to treatment includes:

  • Education and advice on day to day matters such as posture, correct lifting or working positions to help prevent further injuries
  • Exercise and physical activity and advice on this – exercises will likely be given to you or recommended to improve your problem and to target certain muscle groups or areas of the body.
  • Manual therapy –such as massage or joint mobilisation to relieve pain, muscle tension and stiffness, and to allow you to move and function better.
  • Pilates exercises to strengthen your core muscles, improve your posture and aid rehabilitation

Most clients require at least 3-6 appointments to fully recover from their injury and address the underlying causes.

Each treatment and recovery programme is unique for each client, to suit your current and previous areas of pain/injuries, your fitness, your lifestyle and your goals. Exercise programmes and advice are emailed to you after each appointment to provide support between sessions.
